Accessibility statement

What the site is built to do:

• Text contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 against its background, and at least 3 to 1 for large text.
• Every link and control reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
• Every page readable with JavaScript switched off.
• Alt text on every image that carries meaning, naming who or what it shows.
• The one animation, a line drawn through struck-out lists, left still when your device asks for reduced motion.

Last tested: 24 September 2026. Checked against WCAG 2.2 AA.

An automated pass in Chrome over every page at 1440x900 and 390x844 (62 page views): page language, one H1 and heading order, text alternatives, link and control names, form labels, duplicate ids, text contrast measured against the WCAG thresholds (6,083 text elements, lowest 7.34:1), horizontal overflow, reduced-motion rules, and a keyboard pass tabbing through every focusable element on each page view (3,195 stops) to confirm a visible focus outline.

No failures found in these checks.

Not a manual audit with a screen reader or other assistive technology. The check could not measure the contrast of 32 text elements, on the home page and the Kill the Excuse Vocabulary chapter page.
